Consider the Flowers

Consider the flowers

Loosening from the sepalum guard

Unfurling under heavenly watch

Clothing grass, crowning fallow fields

Ripening into color

Gently cupped in invitation

Follow the footprints of pollinators

Down the lines into center

Deep where the dew pools

Stay a moment

Before fragrance scatters her favors

And browning blossoms curl in again

Collapsing into earth’s short term memory
